Turning Complex Standards Into Better Patient Care

Amerita Specialty Infusion Services

Director of Quality and Accreditations Kayla Ortlip has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Eden Prairie, MN. Kayla鈥檚 work exemplifies 明星黑料’s LEGACY value of Get Going; when a challenge calls for someone to map the path, she not only forges ahead, but brings her teams along with her.

Over the past year, Kayla guided Amerita through successful accreditation with the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), preparing each team with clear expectations and a structure they could actually follow. Her most demanding effort came when Amerita pursued the ACHC Immunoglobulin Distinction as a beta-testing organization, which meant building the entire program from nothing. She wrote the policies, designed the workflows, and shaped the documentation, staying close to the details for months so the standards held up without slowing anyone down. She recently earned her Immunoglobulin Certified Practitioner credential, deepening the expertise she draws on to keep quality steady across the specialty pharmacy.

鈥淜eeping the perspective of the patients鈥 care journey at the forefront was key throughout the development of the clinical program,鈥 said Kayla. 鈥淚t has been rewarding to see that work reflected in positive patient outcomes and survey feedback.鈥

For patients, that behind-the-scenes work shows up as safer, more consistent care. Her motivation, she adds, is simple: knowing the systems she builds gives clinical teams the confidence that they have what they need to provide exceptional care.

Congratulations, Kayla. The way you Get Going for your teams turns complicated requirements into everyday confidence for the clinicians and patients who count on Amerita.

Work Smart. Do Good.
